Tronixalloys.com is a professional manufacturer and supplier of Incoloy 800 products with high quality and reasonable price. Among the many applications of Incoloy alloy 800 (UNS N08800, W. Nr. 1.4876) is the construction of heavy equipment that needs corrosion resistance, heat resistance, strength and stability, in order to function at temperatures up to 1500 degrees Fahrenheit (816°C).
A significant characteristic of alloy 800 is that it offers excellent corrosion resistance to a wide range of aqueous media. Furthermore, it has a strong resistance to stress corrosion cracking due to its nickel content. Its resistance to corrosion, oxidation, carburization, sulfidation, and oxidation at elevated temperatures, along with its cracking and rupture strength, make it an ideal choice for high temperature applications.
There are several alloys offered by INCOLOY which are used for applications requiring greater resistance to stress rupture and creep, especially at temperatures above 1500°F (816°C), which are known as 800H and 800HT alloys.
Incoloy 800 is a very strong material with good rupture and creep strength, and offers excellent resistance to oxidation, carburization, and sulfidation at temperatures up to 816°C. It is also very resistant to general corrosion in many aqueous media. For Applications requiring higher stress rupture and creep properties, particularly at temperatures above 816°C, Incoloy 800H and 800HT are recommended.
Incoloy 800 has a great degree of formability, is easily welded and machined. In addition to being used for heat-treating equipment such as baskets, trays, and fixtures, INCOLOY alloy 800 has been used in corrosive environments and high temperatures for many decades. The metal is especially useful for heat exchangers and piping systems in nitric acid media, where a high degree of resistance to chloride stress-corrosion cracking is required.
In the field of chemical and petrochemical processing, alloy 800 is often used in the manufacture of heat exchangers and other piping systems. It is commonly used for steam-generator tubing in nuclear power plants. In household appliances, the alloy is often used for sheathing electric heating elements. In the production of paper pulp, digester-liquor heaters are often constructed of alloy 800. In petroleum processing, the alloy is used for heat exchangers to counteract the effects of the flow of air on the process stream.
There is no doubt that this Nickel-Iron-Chromium alloy has great strength and excellent resistance to corrosion and carburization at high temperatures. As a result of its resistance to stress cracking in some steam generation plants, Incoloy 800 has been used in these plants. Designated as UNS N08800 or DIN W.Nr, it is also resistant to corrosion in many aqueous environments.
A very strong iron-nickel-chromium alloy, Incoloy 800 (also referred to as “Alloy 800”) is resistant to oxidation, carburization, and heat in high temperature atmospheres. In addition to being highly corrosion resistant to a wide range of aqueous environments, it is also highly corrosion resistant to chloride stress-corrosion cracks.
Due to the fact that it doesn’t form the embrittling sigma phase after prolonged exposure at 1200°F [649°C], the Incoloy 800 alloy maintains its austenitic structure even after prolonged exposure to high temperatures. In addition to petrochemical pipe, heat exchangers, carburizing equipment, heating element sheathing, and nuclear steam generator tubing are some of the applications of this material.
