Based on the ASTM B407 specification, Incoloy 800h Pipe can be cold-worked or hot-finished. Along with meeting the chemistry requirements of the specification, Sb 407 UNS N08810 Incoloy Alloy 800h Round Pipe must also undergo heat treatment at annealing temperatures. Planimetric methods should also be used to test and measure Sb 407 N08810 Grade 1.4958 Pipe.
The stability of Incoloy 800 at elevated temperatures is one of its advantages. Incoloy 800 Pipe maintains its austenitic microstructure despite being exposed to elevated temperatures. By ASTM B407, these pipes are annealed for 15 minutes at 1800°F. The Alloy 800 Seamless Pipe is cooled in the air after annealing. Carburization is not a problem for the alloy. The phenomenon occurs when gas mixtures containing hydrocarbons or carbon monoxide come into contact with steel in processing industries. Due to the depletion of chromium in the matrix and the formation of carbides on the pipe’s surface, carburizing weakens many regular steel grades and affects their resistance to oxidation and sulfidation.
Nowadays, stainless tubes are very common on the market. There are also other types of tubes made from different materials. One of them is Incoloy 800 Seamless Pipe. Corrosion resistance is good. Additionally, it is resistant to oxidation and carburization. Material 1.4876 Alloy 800 ERW Pipe is resistant to embrittlement and chloride-related stress cracking due to its nickel content. Welded tubes made from Incoloy 800 can withstand high temperatures and are used in the petrochemical industry. A good quality of Incoloy 800h pipe is that it does not show high sigma embrittlement at elevated temperatures such as 1200 degrees F.
At 2100 degrees Fahrenheit, material number 1.4958 is treated with solution heat. This material also exhibits good properties at high temperatures as it is a carbon-controlled version of the parent metal, Alloy 800. Incoloy 800 pipe can also withstand temperatures between 1100 degrees Fahrenheit and 1800 degrees Fahrenheit. The Incoloy 800h welded pipes are also divided into various versions, similar to the regular pipes. Incoloy 800ht pipe has a higher aluminum and titanium content than other versions. There is a modification of the content of up to 0.85% and 1.25% in these pipes.
ASTM B407 UNS N08810 must be tested in the direction of fabrication, as well as the full tubular size, longitudinal strip, and round specimens. To ensure product quality, Inconel 800h Welded Pipe must have a smooth and free surface. As a result of its cold drawing process, Inconel 800h Seamless Pipe has superior toughness and hardness. Petrochemical processing also uses Inconel 800h Pipe because of its corrosion resistance in acidic and alkaline environments.
Nickel-iron-chromium pipes made from Incoloy 800, 800H, and 800HT are highly resistant to oxidation and carburization at high temperatures. There is no difference between alloy 800H and 800HT except for the higher carbon content in alloy 800H and the addition of up to 1.20 % aluminum and titanium to alloy 800HT. The alloy was originally developed for ASTM B407 Alloy 800 Pipe and later modified slightly into Incoloy 800H to optimize stress rupture characteristics (0.05% -0.10% carbon content). The titanium and aluminum levels in Incoloy 800H have been further modified (0.85%-1.20%) to ensure optimal high-temperature properties.
Incoloy 800H SCH40 pipe is ideal for high-temperature structural applications. Due to its nickel content, this pipe is resistant to chloride stress-corrosion cracking and embrittlement caused by precipitation of the sigma phase. Incoloy Alloy 800 Exhaust Pipe has excellent corrosion resistance. When the solution is annealed, alloy 800H has better creep and stress rupture properties.
Incoloy 800 is primarily used in applications that require a temperature tolerance of 1100° F. The alloy 800H is usually used when creep and rupture resistance is needed. Nickel steel alloys are very resistant to carburization, oxidation, and nitriding due to their chemical balance. Besides its excellent cold-forming characteristics, 800H piping can also be welded using nickel-chrome alloy techniques.
