     Technical conditions of Abrex 500 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plates :

    1) Ultrasonic tested as per SA 578 or any other as per requirement

    2) MTC acc to EN 10204 / 3.2

    3) Charpy Impact tested at -20 / – 46 Deg C.

    4) Furnace Normalised

    5) BQ Plates with IBR form IV

    Fabrication of Abrasion Resistant Steel :

    Welding :

    Welding Abeex 500 under normal conditions is possible (for advice on welding, machining, or forming, please contact one of our offices) with MMA, MOG, and SAW without preheating up to a combined thickness of 60mm as long as hydrogen-controlled electrodes are used. As long as the weld metal is not exposed to wear conditions, consumables should be dried in accordance with scale D of BS 5135. Consumables should also be selected according to the amount of wear that occurs during the weld process.

    Machining :

    The hardness of the steel means machining or drilling is more difficult due to the hardness. In the case of 500, it is necessary to use high-grade cobalt HSS E drilling tools, and in the case of 500BHN, hard metal drilling tools are needed.

    Forming :

    Abrasion steels can be readily cold-formed. Compared with steels of lower yields, three factors should be considered:

    • Higher press forces
    • A greater bend radius is required
    • Spring back.

    Flame Cutting :

    It is possible to cut materials using conventional flame-cutting practices without needing to pre-heat the material at ambient temperature. The following cutting parameters are recommended:-

    Milling :

    The milling process is one of the most effective means of machining abrasion-resistant steel.

    The following recommendations are given for general guidance:-

    Cold Bending :

    The cold bending axis should be placed parallel to the rolling direction as much as possible, as this is the least burdensome of the two directions. The following table provides guidelines for bending to a 90 degree angle. The bending radius, however, should generally be as generous as possible in general.

    Abrex 500 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate Packing

    The Abrex 500 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate is packaged individually in plastic bags, each piece is wrapped with a waterproof material and bundled together with a nylon rope, and the pieces are sleeved individually in plastic bags. In order for the product ID and quantity to be easily identified, clear labels are applied to the outside of the package, and great care is taken during transportation and operation. Abrex 500 Abrasion Resistant Steel Plate is packed to international standards in bundles strapped with strips before it is placed into containers to prevent any damage from occurring during transportation.
