Tronixalloy.com is a highly regarded exporter and supplier of EN19 Round Bar sourced from the finest raw materials. As an industry standard product, these EN19 Round Bars ensure the highest quality. The EN19 bars can be annealed, rolled, or even treated in the T condition.

The EN19 Round Bar is renowned for its wear resistance and potency characteristics. EN19 Carbon Steel Rods are suitable for shafts, spindles, gears, etc. The CS EN19 Bars provide excellent ductility and shock resistance combined with resistance to wear. The characteristics of CS EN19 Bar make them quite popular in high tensile engineering steels.

An EN 19 round bar has tensile strength and is made from a high quality alloy steel. A combination of good ductility and shock resistance makes EN19 Round Bar suitable for applications with very high loads, such as engine gearboxes. In the automotive industry, EN19 Round Bar is popular. In recent years, EN19 Round Bar has become an established material in the Oil & Gas sector. EN19 material performs well in any application that demands strength.

We offer steel flat bars, steel round bars, hexagonal steel bars, and steel square blocks in EN19. The EN19 Round bar can be supplied to your required lengths. The density of EN19 Alloy steel material is 7.85kg/cm3, the tensile strength of EN19 Engineering steel is 775-1075 N/mm2, and the yield strength is 555-755 N/mm2.

In addition to being known as 708M40 or 709M40 and AISI 4140, the en19 hex bar can be annealed as rolled or supplied in the T condition. To forge the EN19 Round Bar, first heat the alloy to 850°C – 1200°C, and then anneal it by gradually heating it between 680°C – 700°C, followed by cooling in air. For welding rods for EN19, heat treatment temperatures, heating rates, cooling rates, and soaking times will vary.

There are several factors that contribute to the variation in heat treatment. For instance, the shape and size of en19 square bars or en19 hollow bars would differ. The kind of furnace used and the quenching medium and transfer facilities for the workpiece are also important factors during the heat treatment of the en19 flat bar.

A high quality engineering steel alloy, EN19 Round Bar meets all the requirements for engineering steel. The main characteristics of the en19 rod include its high tensile steel in addition to good ductility and shock resistance. Furthermore, the EN19 Round Bar offers good wear resistance. This engineering grade steel is an alloy that can be case hardened. These characteristics noted by engineers in the automobile as well as the oil and gas industry is why en19 steel suppliers in Chennai often keep stock of these components.

Because of their high tensile strengths and low costs, steels are widely used in construction and other applications. Hardening agents such as carbon, other elements, and inclusions within iron prevent dislocations from occurring in iron’s crystal lattices. A typical steel alloy may contain as much as 2.1% carbon by weight.

Increasing or decreasing the amount of alloying elements in the steel, either as solutes or precipitates, retards the movement of dislocations that cause iron to be so ductile and weak, and thus controls steel properties such as hardness, ductility, and tensile strength. Compared to pure iron, steel’s strength can only be achieved at the expense of ductility, which iron has in excess.

Steel had been produced in bloomery furnaces for thousands of years, but its use expanded after the invention of blister steel and then crucible steel in the 17th century. A new era of mass-produced steel began with the invention of the Bessemer process in the mid-19th century. Afterwards, the Siemens-Martin and Gilchrist-Thomas processes refined steel’s quality.

In addition to replacing wrought iron with mild steel, further refinements in the process, such as basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS), further reduced production costs and enhanced metal quality. Steel is one of the most common materials in the world today, with over 1.3 billion tons produced every year. Buildings, infrastructure, tools, ships, automobiles, machines, appliances, and weapons all use it. Various standards organisations define various grades of modern steel.

    EN19 round bars Characteristics:

    • When hardened and tempered, this material distorts when machining shafts or long spindles
    • Work pieces should be rough machined to plus tolerance and left on the floor for 36 hours after which the material would have “aged” and relaxed, thereby minimising distortion in the finished product.
    • Machinability is good, but surface defects should be removed by 6% on the outside diameter
    • It is possible to weld this material, but welding should only be attempted with the appropriate methods and materials, according to welding expertise.
    • Up to 100mm in diameter, ideal for 60 ton tensile applications
    • Sizes above the limited ruling section will only be heat treated to hardness, with no guarantee of mechanical properties.

    Forging Properties:

Forge within the temperature range of 125°C/90°C Celsius.

    Stress Relieving:

    Annealed: 600-650°c Heat is needed.

    Hardened: 500-550°c Heat is needed.

    Normalising:

Heat 870°C – 900°C and cool in still air.

    Annealing:

Anneal at a temperature of 85°C Celsius and cool steadily.

    Density:

Density of EN19 Alloy steel material: 7.85kg/cm3

    Machinability:

EN19 alloy steel has good machinability in the annealed condition.

    Welding:

All conventional welding techniques can be used to weld EN19 steel. The mechanical properties of this steel will be affected if it is welded in heat treated condition, so post-weld heat treatment is recommended.
