Tronixalloy.com exports and supplies EN19 Round Bars. This EN19 Round Bar is an industry-standard product and ensures the highest quality. The EN19 bars can be annealed, rolled, or even treated in the T condition.
Round EN19 bars are known for their wear resistance and potency. EN19 Carbon Steel rods are suitable for shafts, spindles, gears, etc. CS EN19 bars have excellent elasticity, shock resistance, and wear resistance. Due to their characteristics, CS EN19 bars are popular in high-tensile engineering steels.
EN 19 alloy steel round bars have high tensile strength. Due to its good flexibility and shock resistance, EN19 Round Bar is suitable for applications with high loads, such as engine gearboxes. In the automotive industry, EN19 Round Bar is widely used. In recent years, EN19 Round Bar has become an established material in the Oil & Gas industry. EN19 material can be used in any application that requires strength.
Steel flat bars, round bars, hexagonal bars, and square blocks are all available in EN19. We can supply EN19 Round bars in the lengths you need. The alloy steel material EN19 has a density of 7.85kg/cm3, a tensile strength of 775-1075 N/mm2, and a yield strength of 555-755 N/mm2.
Aside from being referred to as 708M40 or 709M40 and AISI 4140, EN19 hex bars can also be annealed as rolled or supplied in the T condition. Forging EN19 Round Bars involves heating them to 850°C – 1200°C, then gradually heating them between 680°C – 700°C, followed by cooling in air. Temperatures, heating rates, cooling rates, and soaking times will vary for welding rods for EN19.
Several factors contribute to variations in heat treatment. For example, en19 square bars and en19 hollow bars would have different shapes and sizes. Considering furnace type, quenching medium, and transfer facilities is crucial when heat treating en19 flat bars.
EN19 Round Bar is a high-quality alloy that meets all engineering steel requirements. En19 rods are known for their high tensile strength, flexibility, and shock resistance. Additionally, EN19 Round Bars are wear-resistant. This engineering-grade steel can be case-hardened. As a result, en19 steel suppliers in Chennai keep stock of these components for automobiles and oil and gas companies.
Steels are widely used in construction and other applications due to their high tensile strength and low cost. Carbon, other elements, and inclusions prevent iron’s crystal lattice dislocations. A typical steel alloy may contain up to 2.1% carbon by weight.
Alloying elements, either as solutes or sediments, affect the movement of dislocations, which determine iron’s hardness, flexibility, and tensile strength. A steel’s power is only possible at the expense of flexibility, which iron possesses in abundance.
Steel’s use expanded after blister and crucible steel were developed in the 17th century. For thousands of years, steel was made in bloomery furnaces. In the mid-19th century, the Bessemer process revolutionized mass-produced steel. The Siemens-Martin and Gilchrist-Thomas processes then refined steel’s quality.
Further refinement in the process, such as basic oxygen steelmaking (BOS), reduced production costs, and improved metal quality. The world produces more than 1.3 billion tons of steel annually, making it one of the most common materials. Buildings, infrastructure, tools, ships, automobiles, machines, appliances, and weapons all use it. Modern steel grades are defined differently by different standards organizations.

- SW 19 EN19 Round Bar
- SW 24 EN19 Round Bar

EN19 round bars Characteristics:
- When hardened and tempered, this material distorts when machining shafts or long spindles
- Work pieces should be rough machined to plus tolerance and left on the floor for 36 hours after which the material would have “aged” and relaxed, thereby minimising distortion in the finished product.
- Machinability is good, but surface defects should be removed by 6% on the outside diameter
- It is possible to weld this material, but welding should only be attempted with the appropriate methods and materials, according to welding expertise.
- Up to 100mm in diameter, ideal for 60 ton tensile applications
- Sizes above the limited ruling section will only be heat treated to hardness, with no guarantee of mechanical properties.
Forging Properties:
Forge within the temperature range of 125°C/90°C Celsius.
Stress Relieving:
Annealed: 600-650°c Heat is needed.
Hardened: 500-550°c Heat is needed.
Normalising:
Heat 870°C – 900°C and cool in still air.
Annealing:
Anneal at a temperature of 85°C Celsius and cool steadily.
Forming
The alloy steel EN19 has a high degree of flexibility. In the annealed state, it can be formed using conventional techniques. Since it is tougher than plain carbon steel, it requires more force to form.
Working in the heat,
816°C to 1038°C is the temperature at which En19 steel can be hot.
Tempering
Depending on the desired hardness level, En19 alloy steel can be tempered at 205 to 649°C. Lower tempering temperatures can increase the steel’s hardness. Tensile strength of 225 ksi can be achieved by tempering at 316°C (600°F), and 130 ksi can be achieved by tempering at 538°C (1000°F).
Density:
Density of EN19 Alloy steel material: 7.85kg/cm3
The hardening process:
A temperature of 85°C/88°C Celsius is required for oil quenching.
Machinability:
EN19 alloy steel has good machinability in the annealed condition.
Welding:
All conventional welding techniques can be used to weld EN19 steel. The mechanical properties of this steel will be affected if it is welded in heat treated condition, so post-weld heat treatment is recommended.
