The P22 alloy steel pipe, which is a type of seamless pipe made from alloy steel and designed to withstand high temperatures and pressure, is a type of seamless pipe. In P22, the “P” stands for “Pressure,” while the “22” indicates that the minimum yield strength in terms of kilopounds per square inch (KSI) is 22 kilopounds per square inch.
Generally speaking, P22 alloy steel pipes are more commonly used in the oil and gas industry for applications such as oil refineries, power plants, and petrochemical plants, where high-temperature and high-pressure conditions are prevalent. The materials are also used in manufacturing boilers, heat exchangers, and steam pipelines.
The alloy composition of P22 consists of chromium, molybdenum, and in some cases, vanadium. By adding these elements to the steel, the steel can exhibit improved properties such as improved corrosion resistance, high-temperature strength, and better weldability.
Various sizes and thicknesses of P22 alloy steel pipes can be customized to suit the application’s specific requirements, and they are available in various sizes and thicknesses. To ensure quality and reliability, P22 alloy steel pipes must meet certain standards, such as the ASTM A335 specification, which outlines the requirements for alloy steel pipes.

Inspection And Testing of Quality –
Several quality tests and inspections are conducted on various parameters to determine the product’s efficiency and quality. All such tests are conducted following industrial norms and regulations. Tests like these include
Tests of tensile strength,
Tests for flare-ups,
Tests at the macro and micro levels,
Tests for pitting resistance,
Tests of mechanical integrity,
Tests of radiography,
Analyses of chemicals,
Ultrasonic testing,
Test for flattening,
Tests of hydrostatic pressure.
Certificate of Testing –
The test certificates we provide to our customers prove that our raw materials are of the highest quality. Certificates such as these are
Certificates of raw material testing,
Report on 100% of radiography tests
Inspection report from a third party
The Documentation –
Our customers also receive documentation along with the supply, which includes documents such as
Invoices for commercial transactions..
Certificate of fumigation
Traceability records for raw materials
Charts for heat treatment
Letter of guarantee
Plan for quality assurance
Reports from NABL-approved laboratories
Product Packaging –
During shipping, we use wooden cases, pallets, cartons, crates, and shrink wrap to protect the products from rust and damage. Our products are also packed according to the customer’s requirements.
Product Marking –
Product marking is also important, so products are tagged with product specifications, lengths, logos, sizes, and dimensions after their packaging is completed.
Scope of ASTM A335 GR. P22
In this specification, seamless ferritic alloy-steel pipes with nominal and minimum walls are specified for high-temperature service. This specification specifies pipes that can be bent, flanged (vanstoned), and fusion welded to suit bending, flanging, and similar forming operations. The design, the service conditions, the mechanical properties, and the high-temperature characteristics influence the choice.
