Tronixalloy is a leading distributor, stockist, and supplier of stainless steel sheets in grade 420 stainless steel in all finishes. We are suppliers of Stainless Steel 420 Plate to Jindal Stainless Ltd., POSCO, DKC- Korea, European Mills, NTK- Japan, TISCO, Aperam, and others. 420 Stainless Steel Sheets are available in narrow and wide widths.
Paradoxically (Steel Plates, Sheets and Coils Division) is a leading stockholder, supplier, and exporter of Stainless Steel 420 Plates. Our custom lengths and widths can reach 2000 mm. Exports are our specialty! We can source many hard-to-find grades and non-standard sizes.
The corrosion resistance of stainless steel 420 plates is well known. It is similar to the stainless steel 410, but it is more robust and more complex. Stainless Steel 420 Plate retains its magnetic properties both when annealed and hardened. This one is the most corrosion-resistant when fully set. The stainless Steel 420 Plate can be stiffened by cold working or heat treatment. Heat treatment can achieve a minimum HRC 51 hardness.
Stainless steel 420 plates are one of the most vital grades available. It has a tensile strength of around 586 MPa after annealing. As a result of hardening and stress relief, its tensile strength increases to about 1586 MPa. A UNS S42000 Sheet can effectively resist corrosion in acidic and alkaline environments. However, the material needs to stand up better to flex and impact.
The Hot Rolled 420 Stainless Steel Plate meets the minimum chromium requirements as a food grade. Therefore, it is a common food-safe stainless steel grade.
Din 1.4021 Sheet makes shear blades, needle valves, surgical equipment, and others. Food-safe, it is also used to make cutlery. As a result of being fully hardened or hardened and stress relieved, cold rolled 420 stainless steel plate exhibits enhanced corrosion resistance. The properties of this grade are similar to those of 410. Hardening produces chromium carbide residue, which increases wear resistance. As the alloy reaches 427 degrees C, its properties change, such as rapid softening and reduced corrosion resistance.
420 alloy is available in various dimensions, shapes, and sizes and can be customized according to the client’s requirements. Depending on the needs, surface finishes can also be customized. 2B finished 420 Grade stainless steel plate increases corrosion resistance while Mirror finished 420 Grade stainless steel sheet enhances appearance.
How Do 420 Stainless Steel Sheets Work?
Heat treatment can harden 420 stainless steel, a martensitic, higher carbon version of 410 and 416 stainless. 420 contains at least 12 percent chromium, sufficient for corrosion resistance.
In thicknesses ranging from 0.3mm to 120mm, Tronixalloy.com manufactures and exports stainless steel 420 sheets, stainless steel 420 plates, and stainless steel 420 coils. They are used extensively in a variety of industries. For designing stainless steel sheets, leaves, and rings, we also offer Stainless Steel 202 Sheets, 304 Stainless Steel Sheet, 316 Stainless Steel Sheet, 321 Stainless Steel Sheet, 410 Stainless Steel Sheet, 420 Stainless Steel Sheet, and 416 Stainless Steel Sheet.

MACHINABILITY
- Chip buildup that is tough and stringy.
- Machining some high-carbon tool steels is similar
WELDING
- Due to its air-hardening characteristics, this material is not commonly welded.
- After preheating to 300-400 degrees F, welding can be performed
- Two hours of post-weld tempering at a temperature
HOT WORKING
- It is recommended to raise temperatures to 1400 degrees Fahrenheit gradually, then 2000-2200 degrees Fahrenheit.
- After furnace work, let the furnace cool slowly to prevent cracking
- Maintaining a working temperature above 1600 degrees Fahrenheit requires reheating.
COLD WORKING
- Hard work can only be tolerated to a limited extent.
- Cracking will result from radical forming operations.
ANNEALING
- The annealing temperature should be 1550-1650 F (843-900 C)
- Cool the furnace slowly.
TEMPERING
- Temperatures between 300 and 400 degrees Fahrenheit
- Hardness and corrosion resistance are maximized by air cooling.
The hardening process
- Quench in heated oil at 1850-1950 degrees Fahrenheit.
ABRASION RESISTANCE:
- In comparison to austenitic grades and 17% chromium ferritic alloys, this alloy is less resistant
- The hardened condition provides good resistance to the atmosphere, foods, fresh water, and mild acids
- As a result of annealing, resistance is reduced
- Smooth surfaces are best
HEAT RESISTANCE:
- Mechanical properties will be reduced above the relevant tempering temperature
- The scaling temperature is approximately 1202oF (650oC).
